Recently, the Bihar government has launched the Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana 2024 to provide financial assistance of ₹2 lakh to poor families to create self-employment opportunities. Applicants will be selected through the computer lottery system. This scheme will prove effective in making the citizens of Bihar self-reliant and economically empowered. Applicants can apply online from 05 to 20 February 2024. Applicants can register themselves directly by clicking on udyami.bihar.gov.in.
Objective and Features of Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana:
- The main objective of the Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana 2024 is to foster economic development among various categories of impoverished families in Bihar.
- The Bihar government aims to provide loans up to ₹2 lakh at a very low cost to the poor and BPL citizens for business or small-scale industries purposes.
- The state government will provide 25% of the total amount in the first installment, 50% in the second installment, and the remaining 25% in the third installment directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
- A total of 62 industries have been included under the Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme to provide financial assistance for self-employment.
- The scheme is planned to remain in effect for the next 5 years, aiming to benefit at least one member of each of the approximately 94 lakh impoverished families in the state.
Eligibility of Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana:
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of Bihar.
- Applicant must belong to BPL or poor communities.
- Monthly income of the applicant’s family should be 6000 rupees or less.
- Citizens from all categories of the state, falling under the economically disadvantaged group, are eligible to apply under this scheme.
- Applicant must be an age between 18 to 50 years.
- Applicant must have intermediate, ITI, Polytechnic diploma, etc.
- Applicant’s bank account should be linked with the Aadhaar card.

- Then enter your Aadhar card number and password.
- Click on the login option.
- Now a new tab will open in which click on the apply online option.
- Enter the required details.
- Upload the documents in the asked format.
- Finally, click on the submit option.
- Your registration has been submitted successfully.
