Trademark is segregated in 45 different classes according to the NICE classification which is also known as International Certification of Goods and Services. Among those 45 classes, 34 classes come under Goods section and 11 classes come under Services section. Each class shows a specific category of Goods and Services.

Class 2 is one of 45 trademark classes listed for both goods and services. Trademark Class 2 is for colorants, paints and the preparations which are used for the protection against corrosion of colorants, wood, mordants, metals which are in foil and also powder form used by painters, artist, decorators and decorators.

The following goods are classified under Class 2:

i) Paints, varnishes, lacquers;

ii) Preservatives against rust and against deterioration of wood;

iii) Colorants; mordants;

iv) Raw natural resins;

v) Metals in foil and powder form for painters, decorators, printers and artists.

The following goods must NOT be classified under Class 2:

i) Unprocessed artificial resins (Class 1);

ii) laundry blueing (Class 3);

iii) cosmetic dyes (Class 3);

iv) paint boxes (articles for use in school) (Class 16);

v) insulating paints and varnishes (Class 17).
