RUN (Reserve Unique Name) is a new web based application launched by ministry of corporate affairs in order to simplify the company name approval process. The web service helps you verify whether the name you’ve chosen for your company is unique.
Purpose of the RUN web form:
RUN can be used for the following purposes:
- To Reserve the name of New Company
- To Change the name of any Existing Company
Types of Company who can apply for name using RUN on MCA:
Following are the type of companies who can use the RUN form on MCA to reserve name for Company Incorporation:
- Producer Company,
- Unlimited Company,
- Private (OPC),
- IFSC Company,
- Section 8 Company,
- New Company (Others),
- Part I Section 8 Company,
- Part I LLP to Company,
- Nidhi Company,
- Part I Firm to Company,
- Part I Others
Names that can be reserved under the RUN:
Following are the suffix allowed for the types of companies in RUN:

Other Important points to be considered under RUN web form:
i) Only a registered user of MCA portal can make a application under RUN.
ii) Corporate Identification Number(CIN) is required in RUN process when an existing company wishes to change its name and is using RUN to reserve a new name.
iii) Only one name can be submitted under RUN Application.
iv) There is no mandatory requirement to attach any document while submitting a RUN Application.
v) There is only one chance and there is no change for re-submissions. No refund of fee from MCA for rejected RUN Application.
